Hike to Paarseen lakes

Tour Description:

Through a hill-farm village, past some of the oldest hill farms in Dorfgastein, along the forestry road to the Paulbaueralm; then continue north as far as the
Maierhofneralmen. Here you begin a climb across beautiful alpine meadows strewn with flowers, our hiking path then taking us across sunny countryside, past a field of
rhododendrons and over the Gasteiner H̦he (site of a weather cross) Рa great viewing point to look across the entire valley. Once there, you are just a few steps from your destination.

Summit Tour to the Tagkopf

Tour Description:

Challenging hike from the Strohlehenalm, along a marked path in the direction of the Heinreich Hochalm, past the Hochkönigblick (beautiful lookout point) as far as the turn-off for the Tagkogel (Kokasa); from here you will hike up the Tagkopf – once there, enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding 3,000ers. Hike back down via the Präau Saugrube – Heinreich Hochalm; from the Heinreich Hochalm, a hiking trail towards Unterberg leads briefly along a forestry lane, then via the Strohlehenalm back to the start.

Dorfgastein Hike of Legend (hiking loop)

Tour Description:

Leisurely hike departing from the village of Unterberg, past beautifully kept farmhouses. Installed along this path are 10 info signs, presenting in text and pictures many of the legends of Gastein. This path takes you partially through forest, mainly across meadows and pastures, past the Schlossalm, a power station and the „Gasthof zur Ruine“ in Klammstein. Afterwards, you will cross the main road and hike along a bike & hiking path back to Unterberg. You also have the option of riding the bus back to Dorfgastein.

Unterberg Hiking Loop

Tour Description:

Set out from the car park heading north, following a supply lane until just before the Huberalm (last hairpin bend); from there along the Stoffalmsteig to the Stoffalm, through a glorious meadow covered in flowers, then via a path to the Amoser Niederalm with a view of the Unterberg; now return to Dorfgastein and your original starting point. From the Amoser Niederalm, your hike back down to the car park will take around 45 minutes.

Steineralm Hiking Loop

Tour Description:

To warm up, you will set out from the hotel along a country path to Maierhofen, past some beautiful farmhouses, until you reach Pension Silberkrug; then take the path in the direction of the Steineralm. This path takes you past beautiful alpine meadows with glorious views of Dorfgastein, then through forests providing welcome shade, and then, after about 1.5 hrs., you will have reached the Steinerhochalm. From there, you have sensational views of Gastein Valley. Now via the Paulbaueralm – Bergl along a forestry road, returning to the hotel.

Bernkogel

Tour Description:

From the hotel by car to the village of Unterberg (parking available) on the banks of the Kogelbach. Follow the forestry road as far as the Amoserniederalm – continue to the Hochalm – now another ca. 1 km to the Bernkogelsteig turn-off.
To the Hahnbalzk̦pfl Рthen gently downhill, along a trail until you reach the turn-off for Lindesteig/Rauris/Bernkogel. Continue to the shelter Рnow a short stretch of 40 m secured by cables, requiring surefootedness, up to the summit Рafter ca. 5.5 hours, you will have reached the summit at 2,325 m.

Biberalm

Tour Description:

From the hotel by car in the direction of Bad Hofgastein (Bad Hofgastein train station) as far as the Brandebengut (parking opportunity) ca. 8 km – from the Brandebengut past Hubertuskapelle chapel and through the forest – take a brief rest at the Ankogelblick and, after ca. 2.5 to 3 hours of walking, you will have reached the Biberalm at 1,808 m.

Schockhochalm

Tour Description:

From the hotel with the Fulseck summit lift to 2,033 m – now, a relaxing hike along the ridge line to the Kreuzkogel (2,025 m) and then in the direction of the Perastlscharte – then to the Schockhochalm. Actual walking time: 2 to 2.5 hours. From the Hochalm in the direction of Harbach – past the Niederalm – after a downhill hike lasting around 2 1/2 hours, you will have reached Harbach – now along the old main road in the direction of Dorfgastein – after ca. 45 min. you will have arrived back at Aktivhotel Gasteiner Einkehr.

Schuhflicker

Tour Description:

From the hotel on the Fulseck summit lift to 2,033 m Рnow from the Fulseck heading north along the ridge line to the Arțrl chapel Рeasy downhill hike. From the chapel follow the trail through a coniferous forest Рkeeping to the ridge line until you reach a weather cross. Now you are at the foot of the Schuhflicker Рanother half-hour through rocky terrain, including a stretch secured by cable, and you will have reached your destination.
A great lookout point – with Gastein Valley at your feet.
Actual walking time: 3 to 3.5 hours
Your hike down takes you past Arțrl chapel Рcontinuing in the direction of the Heumoosalm Рthen via the small village of Bergl, ca.
